Is it normal to feel a disconnect with the gay community even though I'm LGBT?

I totally agree. Who I sleep with, doesn't define me as a person. Gay or straight, nothing is more personal and private than your sex life. Hence the term......personal life. I did wear a purple shirt in support of Tyler Clementi and the other senseless losses because of bullying, close-mindedness and Flintstone mentalities, but running out to protests or sit-ins isn't something I'd normally do. My entire argument is that what I do w/ another consenting adult,behind closed doors,in the privacy of my own bedroom.....is no ones business but my owns and the person I'm with. Pretty basic stuff when you think about it.
